Cutting down the tree of unbelief

Contrary to common knowledge, there is a prerequisite to understanding the Bible. You must be a born-again believer. This requirement isn't optional. Apart from being filled with the holy spirit, one cannot understand scripture.

1st Corinthians 2:14 says this, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

The unbeliever is the natural man. He cannot understand spiritual things because he uses human wisdom to explain scripture.

You (the unbeliever) being against God will never say anything good about him.

"And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand." - (Mark 3:24)

In 2019, I attended an NBA basketball game between the Denver Nuggets and the Memphis Grizzlies. Can you imagine their star players Nikola Jokic or Jamal Murray scoring points at the wrong basketball hoop? Unfortunately, this is an unbeliever's best attempt at explaining scripture. Not only will they be off the mark, but they are also shooting at the wrong end of the court!
