What is a ritualistic Christian? A ritualistic Christian is someone that attends church once-a-week but is not spiritually growing. Their relationship with Jesus Christ is limited to their pastor.
They have ulterior motives for attending church. They try to reflect an outward appearance of righteousness for other believers to see. Or they attend church to try to meet someone to date.
Whatever the case, they have stagnated when it comes to spiritual growth. Spiritually, they are like babies, who can only consume the simplest of things and cannot process anything of real substance.
"For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe." - Hebrews 5:13
If this describes you, God is calling you to spiritual maturity.
"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
Mature Christians produce spiritual fruit.
...Every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; - Matthew 7:17
It's easy to distinguish mature Christians from babes because they grow in the fruit of the Spirit year after year.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. - Galatians 5:22-23
Read the Bible daily. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you. Pray to be "on fire" for Christ. God wants to have a personal relationship with you.
